Lead Data Engineer

We’re working with a damn cool climate tech start-up in Berlin (but you can work remotely anywhere +-2hours CET) who are driving actionable climate action through data and insights. They are building an open-data solution for developers to automatically measure greenhouse gas emissions and then act upon the data and insights.

The Role:
Your focus is definitely on data architecture, infrastructure, and automation & you will be the first dedicated Data Engineering expert hired underneath the CTO. You’ll work very closely with both the development & Data Science team to architect, design & then build their scalable data infrastructure. There is a fair bit of NLP they use (entity recognition & labeling mostly) with some ML so it’s not a 100% DE role, more 70/80%.

The company/Tech Stack:
They currently have about 15 employees working remotely (but mostly based in Berlin) and have an 18-month runway currently so is pretty secure. You’d work mostly with Python, docker, and Kubernetes on AWS – any experience you have with Algorithms, NLP & Modelling would be a bonus. Lastly, they really do want someone who at least has a real passion & interest in clean tech/climate change but you don’t need experience per say. Salaries up to €100K + Equity.
